Body of Christ Fellowship, Brevard County, Florida (BCF) takes its name from this perspective: first, those who are led by God to become a part of this work of the Holy Spirit, are they themselves, representatives of the "true church" created, according to Holy Scripture, by Jesus Christ Himself (Matthew 16:18). As such, they are the "BODY OF CHRIST" having repented, believed, and surrendered their lives to the Lordship, saving mercy, and sufficient grace of Jesus Christ, and have put all their faith in Christ alone for direction, protection, correction, and redemption. Each individual represents an important and necessary part of the body as we serve the Lord in unity as it pleases Him (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). 

Secondly, we share a common biblical understanding of the gospel in our connection in Christ, being led by the Word of God. That Gospel being the virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, redemptive bodily resurrection, heavenly ascension, and soon coming return of our King Jesus. All aspects of the Gospel are a daily reality and continuous celebration for the followers of Christ. Those having chosen that narrow path, are agreeing to be a part of this "FELLOWSHIP", purposed to live out their relationship with Christ together  accomplishing the good works and Spirit led ministry of the Kingdom of God. We are committing to join the fellowship of Christ's suffering (Philippians 3:10), all the while, encouraging, supporting, and bearing with one another, along with challenging one another by iron sharpening iron in the love of Jesus Christ (Proverbs 27:17). 

BCF is called to present a living picture of what individual transformation and corporate unity in Christ should look and be like, according to the Scriptures.  This involves undergoing a genuinely profound internal change of heart, mind, and the laying down of our will. This produces a permanent shift in our character and actions as we become more like Christ. It's a gradual process of being molded and shaped to be more like Jesus through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and sound teaching of the Word of God, that renews our mind and aligns us with His will. Unity is based on coming into agreement that God alone reigns and He alone is worthy of praise. It requires an understanding that there is no room for my ego, agenda, or flesh to have a place in God's plans. Thus, we agree to follow after Christ in all things together.

 

BCF is purposed to impact the community through this living body, called the church, with the gospel for the Kingdom of God and for the glory of God.
